Plymouth Auto Repair and Service Shop in Everett WA

It all started in 1928 when Chrysler Corporation decided to create a unique automotive brand by the name “Plymouth.” It was going to be a brand that was aimed at the “low-priced” segment of entry vehicles. This would allow the brand to compete with the likes of Ford and Chevrolet. Over time, Plymouth became a household name among automotive enthusiasts and earned various awards for its efforts. At Conaway Motors, we are able to offer robust access to quality Plymouth repair & service at a fair price.

The brand’s journey began at the Madison Square Garden when Plymouth produced its first entry into the market named, “Model Q” and it was a two-door coupe. In 1928, it was a unique foray into a market heavily favored by Ford and Chevrolet. However, the beauty of Plymouth and why it started to stand out had to do with the standard features. This included the use of world-class hydraulic brakes that others weren’t offering. These brakes made the driving experience better and that was something Plymouth became renowned for. It was producing low-priced vehicles while still emphasizing quality parts and features. At the time, these vehicles were being sold at select Chrysler dealerships as an extension of the main company.

Chrysler went through a rough period during the Great Depression (the 1930s and 1940s) making it difficult for the company to stay afloat. However, the Plymouth division kept motoring along with its wide array of models at a lower price. People were willing to pay the lower price to get their hands on a vehicle and this kept Chrysler going. While everything else was falling by the wayside, Plymouth was heading in the opposite direction. The brand started to get a lot of attention by Chrysler and that is when changes were made to the engine with a 3.1 L version being released.

Plymouth went through a period where its emphasis was focused on extending the features of other Chrysler brands such as Dodge and Mitsubishi. This meant various features would overlap and this also led to the eventual demise of Oldsmobile as an automotive brand. However, it was able to launch a variety of vehicles during the 1990s that are still seen on the road to this day including the Laser, Neon, Volare, Breeze, and Valiant.

For owners of Plymouth models (old or new), please feel free to speak to one of our qualified representatives and have the right people take a look at the vehicle. We have seen it all and enjoy working on Plymouth models due to the history of the brand and what it has stood for through the years. It is a brand that grew the automotive industry and made it into a powerhouse that everyone knows it for nowadays.
